Kiiwi SMS Program

SMS opt-in happens inside the Kiiwi mobile app. This page shows the exact consent experience so it can be verified without an account, because the opt-in screens sit behind a login.

Kiiwi Corporation (doing business as Kiiwi, kiiwi.ai) operates a mobile app that connects people with local businesses through real-time deals. The Kiiwi SMS Program sends deal alerts, reminders about deals you saved or did not finish buying, and updates about your account and purchases.

There is no SMS sign-up form on this website. Consent is collected only in the app, and only from someone who has already entered and verified their own mobile number.

How you opt in

Consent is a separate, optional checkbox that is unchecked by default. You can finish creating an account, and use every part of Kiiwi including buying deals, without ever checking it. It is never bundled with accepting the Terms of Service, and verifying your phone number with a one-time passcode is not consent: that passcode only proves the number is yours and is required to create an account at all.

The checkbox appears in three places in the app:

  • Signing up. On the step where you enter your mobile number.
  • Privacy policy update. In the notice shown when the privacy policy changes, alongside the separate policy acknowledgement.
  • Account settings. Under Account, then Notifications, as a "Marketing texts" toggle that is off unless you turn it on.

The exact consent wording

Program terms

  • Program name: Kiiwi SMS Program, operated by Kiiwi Corporation.
  • What we send: deal alerts, reminders about deals you saved or did not finish buying, and account and purchase updates.
  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply for messages sent to you from us and to us from you.
  • To stop: reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that.
  • To rejoin: turn Marketing texts back on under Account, then Notifications, in the Kiiwi app.
  • For help: reply HELP to any message, or email support@kiiwi.ai.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Messages are sent in accordance with the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices and with mobile carrier requirements.
  • The program is operated in compliance with applicable law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Your information

We record, for every consent: who gave it, the phone number, when, which screen it was given on, and the version of the wording shown. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
